LINO-PRINTING
For this expansion project, I came to the idea of using this method because it's interesting to play around with just lines. This technique includes the use of tools such as bench hook to hold the lino in place and carving tools to cut out the positive or negative spaces to the lino surface. In doing this technique the important thing to do is to know where to carve. I carve all the outlines and carve different scale of shapes in different areas. I made sure to leave spaces when carving for the negative or else it will merge next to each other.
I created various design using the same lino. However, I played around a lot with the composition in different angles and colours made the displays look more interesting and fun to look at.
The images of different designs shows at the bottom.

Linocut

First Design - I find this very striking because of it's bold red colour

Second Design

Third Design - The colours are well contrast to each other. There are some areas that has patterns and made it look more unique.

Fourth Design - Different tones of brown and overlapped layers of the design.

Fifth Design - The overlapped layers of design made the outcome look like it's moving downwards. Also, the colours that are used here are well balanced with a good texture and tone.
