CONSTRUCTING A SEQUENCE
I learned a lot of techniques of book binding such as folding, saddle stitching and so on. I constructed my sequence in a book and it display my story that is about my personal self. The challenge was not allowed to use pencil for creating design. However, the method was to use like an ink base work; acrylic, watercolour, crayon, etc. This helps me enhance my skills in creating design without relying on pencil. For my work, I used acrylic ink throughout my work. I based the colours within the mood in each pages. Also, made sure not to rely on words and just imagery so it helps the reader see what is the message I want to convey about.

Constructed it into a book with stitches at the side

The front cover shows a rope is wrapped around the neck of the person. It portrays imprisonment from depression and the colour black gives that representation. Also, the lines are like negative aura. Inside the head I placed letters to indicate the confusion, sadness, doubt, etc.

I used a typography technique and placed different letters on the person sitting while the head is down.

This is a zoom in face that shows the sad expression of the person. The tears itself gives different emotion like the colour of the hair does.

I created three continuation of sequence of hair flows through page to page, a sense of journey. The second page display the negative aura that turned into light along the way. The third image display a curved circle and made the design pops out more from the page into this hope aura. I made the colour look like the sunset because it shows the positive side to it.

The role of the ball is to help the person in need to give hope once again. The matter about depression issue is not only about me but it happens to every person because of their experience or mindset that turned into negativity. It relates to everyone and I wanted to show to the viewer through my story that there is something called light and hope. It will also make them understand that life is full of surprises either good or bad. However, the important thing that this story shows that there will be ending to the negativity of depression somehow.

The ball lend a hand to the person and turned the person into positive aura. While the letters is moving away from it's head portrays that the confusion is gone.

The back cover shows the light defeats the dark.
